We're deeply concerned at Rory's disappearance. He is in Iraq as a professional journalist - and he's a very good, straight journalist whose only concern is to report fairly and truthfully about the country. We urge those holding him to release him swiftly - for the sake of his family and for the sake of anyone who believes the world needs to be kept fully informed about events in Iraq today.

This is a very important principle for any journalist. I would be derelict in my professional duty as a journalist if I were to answer that question.

We all know there are substantial risks. At the same time, what we do is report the news. We report the stories such as Iraq, and it's a dilemma we struggle with all along because, frankly, we don't get to report as much in Iraq as we'd like to because of security.

We are deeply concerned for the safety of our colleague Jill Carroll, a noted professional journalist who has covered all sides of the conflict in Iraq. We call on whoever is holding Carroll to release her at once.

Release this journalist who strived for Iraq, defended Iraqis and condemned the war in Iraq.

The purpose of the expos is to match federal agencies and big companies with veteran-owned business. The secondary goal is to help promote policy, understanding and communication.

This highlights the range of dangers facing every journalist trying to cover Iraq. Journalists covering Iraq have told us for months that the risks are so great that it has had a huge impact on coverage.

The kidnappers who took Jill need to know that Jill is only an innocent journalist ... who only went to Iraq only to convey the truth, to tell the stories of the Iraqi people. She had nothing to do with the war that happened in Iraq.

The goal of (the report) was to shed awareness on harassment and assess the campus climate. We hope to promote dialogue and hope it extends beyond the student body to the faculty and administrations at universities.

It's bad enough the administration bribed a journalist to promote their policies, but now it looks like taxpayer dollars were handed over for work that was never done,

What made the voice of the people somehow less important than the paid professional journalist?

Our goal in Iraq is a democratic Iraq that truly respects the wishes of the people of Iraq, ... We can set up some parameters for a process, but we cannot write a blueprint.

The dominant and most deep-dyed trait of the journalist is his timorousness. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. Where the novelist fearlessly plunges into the water of self-exposure, the journalist stands trembling on the shore in his beach robe. The journalist confines himself to the clean, gentlemanly work of exposing the grieves and shames of others.
