en When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

en If we start controlling the commercials a household sees and make ads totally or even partly independent of the programming they're watching, some of today's low-cost avails may become prime time. In a household that sees limited television but only watches at 1 o'clock in the morning, a marketer might be willing to pay prime-time rates to reach that person.

en Westmoreland County has had a tournament for quite a few [53] years. And Allegheny County added a tournament a few [five] years ago. It was time for Washington County to get involved. It will be good for the county.

en But is it a mania? This week, I spoke with a friend who bought a 2,000 square foot house in Orange County, California, in 1999. He paid $235,000. Two years later, he sold it and moved out of state. He got $350,000 for it. His son, who remained in California but did not buy a home, tells him that it just sold for $800,000.

en He's upset about the dissolution of the company that he has spent more than 40 years with. It's been very difficult for him emotionally to see the company sold and particularly now to see it not sold as a whole.

en We are the largest antique clock shop in the U.S.. We sold 6,000 clocks last year. If you know of anyone who sold more, tell me about them.

en We have a clock. We're not going to play this event without umpires. And I believe that the basic problem the WUA faces in our continuing discussions with them is that that clock may have stopped before they became more reasonable in their demands. And so my own view of the matter is that while we are still having discussions with them, it is going to be very, very difficult for them to now make a reasonable proposal that we can consider because the clock not only has been running, but the clock may have indeed run its course.

en I wish we didn't have to do that, but that's what it is. The good news is we're not traveling, but I think 12 is going to be difficult for us. I'd prefer 1 o'clock, more of a regular time. ... We would just all prefer to be in our routines, and we don't normally get up at 9 o'clock and get into a stretching and getting-ready-to-play-a-game mode.

en You have to watch the clock constantly because you're only allowed out of your home for a limited period, and for a busy person, watching the clock and knowing other people are watching the clock is extremely difficult.

en We changed that to: 'Pulaski County residents are encouraged to observe Central time. We're not going to be the time police. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. We're not going to be the clock cops. They said as long as our government ran on Central time, they weren't worried about anything else.

en That can become a distraction, ... If you don't get it out of the way, it's difficult to concentrate on what you need to concentrate on. I know it's been hard for him.

en I did center field for 15 years and I never took it for granted. It was a great run. I won't say I won't ever go out to center again, but it's Johnny's time now.

en Our plan is to look at all those things. Where can we save people time? Not just at 5 o'clock on their way home but at 2 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon or 4 o'clock on a Saturday morning.
