It was challenging at times, especially when we converted over and actually started to transfer data over to the new system. Even though you go through training — that was about a month ago — when you start inputting information into the new system, it's still new. It's about getting familiar.

We will be able to transfer data between our event management system and our accounting system, saving hundreds of hours of data entry.

We're still going through some growing pains with the system - as you would anytime you implement a new system. Anytime you have converted data, you're going to have issues to deal with. Because we have an integrated ERP system that produces consistent data over the years, we can exploit the information to come up with cost reduction and strategy improvement ideas. Data makes it easier to justify these innovations.

[Unilever] had set aside an SAP system specifically for holding a copy of the master data, and assigned responsibility to people to manage the data in that system. They used SAP replication technology to manage all of the other copies that were around the organization.

They have some compelling data on the potential volume of people who are going to come here and potentially be in need of some assistance from the medical system. Because of advances in electronic data management, this is one of the first times they have been able to look prospectively at this issue.
