You've got more guys who are familiar with the system. Right now I like the progress. But like anything else, it's not where you start, it's where you finish.

It was challenging at times, especially when we converted over and actually started to transfer data over to the new system. Even though you go through training — that was about a month ago — when you start inputting information into the new system, it's still new. It's about getting familiar.

He knows how to pitch. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. He didn't get into a set pattern. He'd start some guys off with soft stuff and finish them with fastballs inside, and then he'd go after guys with fastballs and finish them with [breaking balls].

We are not familiar with losing, and that is one thing we stress in this locker room: Don't get familiar with losing, because we never lose games here. I think a lot of guys know that, and they know the tradition behind the Green Bay Packers, so it is time for us to get on this road and start winning games.

Sooner or later, Zimmerman's going to start three or four ballgames in a row, and Short may start two or three, Watson one or two, ... But basically, you're going to see the same guys that have been here finish out the season.

To get off to a good start, we needed everybody in, including our draft picks. We wanted to get the new guys and the young guys familiar with what we are doing, ... Really, we wanted the enthusiasm taking off from where it was last year, so it was a key thing that we got everybody into camp on time.

A 17th-place finish isn't what we're looking for and we're capable of much more. But we were able to keep our nose clean all day, stay out of trouble and come home with a top-20 result. If we can do that every week we'll be making progress. It's not where we want to be, but it's a start.

We played to win from start to finish. Some things didn't go our way and I think the guys persevered tonight. It was nice to hear in the final seconds the guys up on the bench believing we could still win.

I'm real familiar with the offense, familiar with the coaching staff. I had a year to sort of feel my way through and work with the guys.

The whole system is pretty rotten from start to finish and they really need to tighten up. There's very loose access control over who can get credit reports.

We are still developing depth. You can look at a lot of guys that stick out, but from top to bottom, the system is still a work in progress.

If you finish 43rd and the other guys finish in the 20s, there's still a lot of cars separating you. If you want it to come down to where all 10 guys have a shot, then it would be great to just be racing 10 guys.

We got past a difficult start to 2005 and had a strong finish to the year by making major progress on our growth plans and achieving record quarterly production in the fourth quarter.

I've never seen anything like that one-two finish in my career. Those two guys should get us off to a good start Saturday.

It's disappointing to have a regular season like we had and put yourself in position and not finish it off. I think we'll look back and see we did some good things and made some progress. But when you don't finish it the way you'd like, that makes it tough.
