en I said to one of my students a couple of years ago, what is it with you people? You never get off the phone to one another, you travel through whole continents to be with one another for 14 hours. And he said, Mr. Price, we had to invent families of our own, our own families disappeared.

en In the last few years, family travel has exploded. But now families are really going together with no one left behind since September 11. If something bad happens, families don't want to be separated.

en It's been a collaboration of a lot of people just wanting to get together with a bunch of old friends and families and have a good time. That's been our whole goal. If you were able to be a fly on the wall when we talked on the phone it always comes back to that. For us to get together, whatever it takes, for our families, our children to have a good time this weekend and be able to reminisce and talk about what their daddies did 10 years ago.

en We didn't tell the families what happened, the families told us what happened. The families were informed by the governor and his staff and by other rescue-connected people. We were here and took the same emotional ride as the families.

en I have a sense that many Americans, especially those like me with European or foreign parents, feel they have to invent their families just as they have to invent themselves.

en Of course, my thoughts immediately go out to the children that are in the area. In the New Orleans area, there are families that couldn't get out. The children are now on survival mode. In Slidell, students that I taught don't have a house anymore. There are students who are lost, families we can't locate. The situation is pretty stressful.

en I know what their agenda was: They would like us to play in our home state, ... And our players like that, too, to be honest with you. It's just more of a travel issue and a family issue. But I'm sure our families and their families and friends will go to Baton Rouge to see the game and be with them.
