We had a nine-piece entourage at one point, and that was a lot of fun. But I think our fan base really resonates with the acoustic stuff.

My stuff was more of a folk coffeehouse thing, with more acoustic guitar, just me doing a single, and then adding on instruments and voices, with emphasis on lyrics and singing and light kind of acoustic jazz.

Politically, Republicans now need to be visibly engaged on behalf of something that resonates with their own voting base. Where else do you turn to get your base excited?

That meeting kicked of a great friendship with them (the Americans). I've been with them on vacation to their houses in Florida and stuff. I've met just an entourage of people that they known since 2002. We now all meet at the race track every year in February.

It was originally billed as acoustic but I think we'll do it as a full band, with somebody playing an acoustic guitar.

You always go into the NCAA tournament and make a couple of little, subtle adjustments. You may take something that looks like this and just add one piece or remove one piece, or move it around a little bit, but it still looks like this. With this group, what I did was I took some stuff that we did in November and I showed it to them again, and they think it's brand new.

That one song made me realize just how much I missed playing acoustic guitar without all the other stuff, ... And it also reminded me of the songs I loved growing up.
