en Everybody is focused in. We know what we've done the past couple of years. We always had letdowns. But we've got enough experienced players and coaches not to let it happen again.

en In the past couple of years, I think the seniors have experienced some of the letdowns that have occurred after emotional games and they don't want it to happen again. Don't think I'll have to call on them. I think they'll handle it. I believe our focus will be where it needs to be.

en We've had a couple letdowns at halftime. The defensive focus is the key. That's what happened at NAU. We let down ... and they have too many good shooters, too many good players to not be focused on that.

en It's an honor for our players and our program to be ranked No. 1 by the coaches. Given the fact that we've gone out of the tournament early two times in the past three years, we're as focused on getting as far in the tournament as possible . . . and not worrying about rankings.

en We made a couple big plays, got a couple stops. That's what we need to do, have guys step up when it really counts with the game on the line. Hopefully, we're starting to build on something. We just need to stay focused and come to do it every night. We can't have any letdowns with the spot we're in right now.

en It was inexperience on our part. We played with a lot of young players and few experienced MLS veterans, ... This is a league that's been around for 10 years filled with experienced players and one that is very strong and physical. We were mistaken, and most of all me.

en He thinks he'll overpower this guy, but believe me, that is not going to happen. en I believe it is in the best interest of Temple football that the 2005 season be my last as head coach. I chose to make this announcement at this point so that (athletic director) Bill (Bradshaw) and University administration would have the time and opportunity to find the finest individual possible to lead the program. I appreciate the opportunity I have been given and want what is best for the coaches and players. Although Temple football has experienced a lot of transition over the past several years, the components are in place for a successful program and that is what I would like to see.

en We were so used to winning in those days, I didn't see any reason we wouldn't just continue right on doing that at least a couple of times each year, ... But over the past couple of years ... we haven't been in position to do that as much. I think we've got some more victories to go, but in case that doesn't happen we'll make sure we enjoy this one.

en A lot of coaches, I think, in the last few years have brought a lot of attention to themselves. Coaches need to coach and let the players play. The recognition needs to go to players exclusively. There are too many coaches who call attention to themselves. I'm not going to do that.

en I guess I got in a little trouble with the check, ... I went to the coaches, told the coaches. And pretty much wasn't really focused on the [N.C. State] game, just wondering what was going to happen. From there, I came back and everything just blew up out of control.

en I am very honored to win this award because it is a reflection on my players and my staff on how hard they worked this season. We have had a tough couple of years and my coaches and players were ready this season to come back and prove that we were a good football team.
