He enjoys it, he's good at it and he thrives on interacting with real Texans and traveling around the state. He's clearly trying to set the agenda and set the tone for this campaign.

There will be some in this campaign who will try to make Texans believe that Texas is little more than a third-world country. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. But Gov. Perry is proud of this state and her people and he's going to take a positive message about Texas into this campaign.

Some candidates in this race are sure to take a more negative tone and try to convince voters that our state has done nothing right in the last few years, but Texans will know better.

For over three years, state leaders have stuck their heads in the sand and ignored the majority of Texans who want the state to make a real commitment to supporting and improving our children's schools.

Higher gas prices will not deter Texans from traveling this holiday. Nearly 5.1 million Texans are expected to travel for the Christmas - New Year's holiday, up 1.4 percent from last year. When you factor in hotel and rental car rates, gasoline remains a relatively small part of most family travel budgets.

These troops are from all walks of life. They are all unique cause they are all from Texas. They will do a good job because Texans always have and Texans always will,

If the agenda is an agreed upon agenda, then they'll have no problem what getting their members to sign off on allowing them to spend their money to pursue that agenda. That's the real truth.

A state of the state address is always an opportunity for the governor to set the agenda for state government. And in an election year, you just can't help but regard it as an agenda not only for the next 11 months, but also as setting themes in an election.

The governor thrives on the momentum that he is feeling from the crowds, from the strength of our campaign.

It actually would be virtually impossible to exaggerate the magnitude of the state's fiscal problem. And the governor-elect means what he's said about campaign-finance reform. And that intrinsically creates a very tough agenda.
