I think he was a little surprised the puck came right out to him. He had to take a step back before he could shoot, and I was able to get more set for the shot.

Nobody shot the puck like Brett did. He transformed the way a generation of players shot the puck. He perfected the one-timer. It was transition in the game. He had great input into how guys would shoot the puck.

I was surprised. It was the first shift for us. We just tried to throw the puck on net and hopefully go for a rebound or cycle the puck. I took the shot and it just kind of went five-hole. I was surprised, but we'll take it.

We shot the puck a lot and I appreciate that and I wish others would shoot more. I think on the power play we could shoot the puck much more.

We were running a set play. I got a pick and was able to get a step on my defender. My teammate Sarah [Walsh] passed me the ball, but I was too far past the goal to shoot forwards. I can't remember the last entry (into the offensive zone) where he had a step on a guy and drove to the net. There's been too much one-on-one. For him it's more about finding the help, putting the puck there, and getting it back. He needs to compete for the puck, take the body when he has to, then make himself available to get the puck back.

If I wanted to shoot the puck at him, I would have shot it at him. I shot the puck around the boards and he was about two feet off the boards, but whatever. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective.

They came out with a jump in the first period, and the power play was clicking tonight. One of the things we game-planned for was to shoot the puck more. Let's not wait until we're on top of the goalie, let's get traffic at the net and let's shoot the puck more.

At training camp, we had to decide what kind of player he should be. Should he just shoot the puck, or should he be a steady defenseman who could do other things? He's got to do more than shoot the puck to play at this level. He had to learn that. He's still not nearly out of the woods, but he's made progress in the games he's played.

My first instinct when I have the puck and I have the shot is to shoot at that open spot (of the net). I get a lot of my goals that way, but also score on rebounds as well.

Kennedy's really good with the puck down low. He'll also hit though. We can all shoot, we can all find the back of the net, we're all good at moving the puck.
