It's been a blast. ordsprog

en It's been a blast. The most fun is getting to know guys off the field who I haven't been teammates with.

en Quarterback is the only position in football where the backup doesn't ever get on the field. It's one position that really needs to get on the field to learn. You can't re-create game situations and speed in practice. That's why NFL Europe is so big for these young guys. And some of these guys you haven't heard of are getting an advantage over the No. 1 picks.

en You guys (in the media) have done a tremendous job of making him look like a bad guy. But I've been most impressed by Randy. I didn't know what to expect because I didn't know him. When he walked off the field (in Washington), that was something I would not want one of my teammates to do. But I also don't know what the situation was in Minnesota. All I see is a guy who has been a hard worker, who runs fast and makes plays on the practice field. He shows a lot of emotion on the field; he seems to be all about winning. He doesn't come across as an outcast. He doesn't come across in a negative way.

en I knew I had nothing to lose, and I really didn't even expect to make the team. I just knew it was going to be a blast being on the same field with all those players. Every one of those guys has been an idol of mine.

en It's always nice when you get a chance to play against your old teammates for the first time. There are a lot of guys you haven't seen since last season. Now I'm a member of the Orioles, but it was great to see those guys, great to give them all hugs.

en I haven't gone around and taken a poll -- and I won't -- but I would bet if you went out and asked all those guys about their favorite teammates, a lot of them would mention Kenji as one of them.

en It is impossible to find a field big enough to work on some of the open-field stuff we want to work on. As a coach, it is tough because we haven't played together a lot and we haven't had the field time to do it.

en When you're a younger player, you can't worry about what your teammates are doing. When you're older, life slows down and you can analyze things in the big picture more, and I've decided I want to get more involved off the field with guys.

en A lot of things came into play and I was looking at the big picture. The teammates I have here were a big part of it. Without my teammates, I would not have scored a single goal or registered a point. We made some really good signings in the summer and with the young guys we will keep improving. If you look at your lineup, there are guys that have won and again can win a Stanley Cup. It never crossed my mind to leave this team.

en Not only has he shown me things on the field, but he has helped me off the field. He has seen and done a lot. I know we are teammates now, but we will be friends always.

en He's a special player who really understands the game. It's like having another coach on the field the way he barks out orders and instructions to his teammates from center field.

en It's great because it's all four of us working together. We are all here and our teammates are here for us also. Just being down in the (wrestling) room with our guys, our teammates, it really helps.

en We really haven't had anything challenging to this point. But this was a good field today, and I know these guys have been itching to prove themselves.

en I want to win, and my teammates, they play hard. We're trying our best. We're bunting the ball. We're moving guys over and we're getting good at-bats, and that's all you can ask for. I know my teammates are going to score some runs.

en I can bring my two girls out here in the afternoon and let them play on the mini-field. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. It's a blast. I never did that before.
