We had a lot of young guys play tonight and our execution wasn't that good. It's tough when you start off by giving up 14 points.

That's the way we feel. We'll see how things play out. I hope they don't tear this team apart and we have to start all over. I know we have some good young guys coming up, but it would be tough for a lot of us to swallow if we have to start over.

You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. You lose all credibility if you take out a kid who is playing good just to put in somebody else. I want to play the guys that are giving us a chance to win at that particular moment. My hope is that Eddy Curry can play 40 minutes every game. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. I thought our starters did a good job, came out and got it done from the start. Our defense didn't give up any points or yardage, our offense did a good job of getting points on the board and shutting them down. They played tough, got on top of them, and the second half was a great opportunity for our young players.

It's definitely an organizational team. We've got a lot of young guys who have to step up and play hard. We're gonna have a tough little start while these guys are getting used to it.

Forty points and 10 assists. When he wasn't scoring, he was creating opportunities for other guys. Tonight was a prime example of a team effort. Our intensity was much better from the start.

We were giving a lot of players a chance tonight. Red-shirts that didn't play at all in the fall played a lot tonight. It was good to see those guys out there in a competitive atmosphere.

My fastball command was pretty poor, but the cutter was pretty good. The first inning had good points and bad points. Mostly, the execution wasn't there at all. For me, it's trying to get mechanics down to be consistent, and today I wasn't consistent.

Today's match against UAB was a tough start. They have a very good team down the line and pulled out the big points. Our girls fought hard, but did not play the big points smart.

Especially the Olympics [in 2010], I'm sure some of us aren't going to be there. We had one goal from the start and that was make the finals and play for the gold medal. It's always tough to go all the way, we've had some good luck playing Switzerland in the quarters and tonight we had a great effort from 20 guys. That's why we won.

When we get down inside the red zone we have to come away with points, ... There was a little confusion down there. We have some young guys playing on offense ,and the execution is something we need to get better at.

The old guys can still play a little bit. ... We've been around, we've won the World Cup in '96, and we demand a lot from each other. I think the young guys expect us to go out and lead by example. I think tonight was a good example of that.

I made up my mind I was going to play some guys. Those guys I put in have been playing their tails off in practice. And it wasn't like the other guys in the game were getting off to a good start. The kids knew I was going to do it.

It's tough, but I think we're making it tough on ourselves. We're giving up fast-break points, we're letting guys do whatever they want to do on the floor.

We struggled this weekend. We didn't play with any effort or emotion last night and Princeton took advantage. Tonight, we had better effort but our confidence and execution wasn't good enough.
