Instead of collecting trading cards and other memorabilia some have grown up and now air miles is the adults' collectable.

In the late '80s, people started realizing that the old cards were valuable, and adults became involved in collecting.

When I came into the picture, Ben and his dad had had a lot of together time and did a lot of grown-up things. Then I came along, and we did more grown-up things. He was used to hanging around adults a lot. I think that was part of (his growing up fast). He just got used to being around adults, and he acted like one of 'em.

Adults wanted all sorts of different cards, so we produced some of that. The leagues licensed more people to make cards. We were getting fewer kids buying, but the market was still growing.

And those who were good players got hired as traders.

At last adults in this country are going to be treated like grown-ups and given a little bit of choice about having a social life beyond 11 o'clock.
