We really liked what we had on our roster. I just didn't feel the quarterback position was something we needed to address this year.

We wanted to sign two quarterbacks last year and didn't. Since I've been here, we didn't have choices at quarterback. Now we have choices ... I'm excited to have a quarterback roster that looks like an SEC quarterback roster, instead of one semi-experienced guy and a freshman, then a bunch of walk-ons.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I feel great about our quarterback situation, ... I'd be remiss to say something like that. I feel this, though, I feel we have the best player at that position playing, and that's very important. There were times last year we really didn't know that, and we had to go through a process during the season.

Going in we wanted to solidify each position on our team. We feel like we have done that with these guys. We added athletic ability, talent and size - areas we needed to address. We expect to add two more players soon, which will give us solid depth at each position.

I think there's no question offensive line is one of the big priorities Miami has wanted, needed and tried to address. Losing your (position) coach makes it difficult to recruit (at that position), but something obviously needed to be done.

I don't think anything will happen before (today). We are going to address the roster then. There are people we have to add to the roster. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. We do have to remove a person, and we have some administering to do for the roster.

We didn't have, maybe, the precision that we needed at times to get things executed, in terms of the protection, route-running and the decision-making at the quarterback position, so it is not really any one area.

The obvious question is the quarterback position, and right now we would plan on playing both of them. We feel like we would need both of them, because we don't have any experience at quarterback. One of them may struggle. One could get hurt. So we have to prepare both to play.

It is a competitive process in our program. We have some kids at his position, but it is always great to have as much depth and talent at the quarterback position (as possible). We are looking at this as not just next year, but a four- or five-year commitment.

I mean, that's a good assessment. I would agree with that. I just feel like - just what he brings to the table. I mean, he's the guy. Obviously, a number of commentators will say he's a warrior. He has played with injuries. I just feel like, (with) him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position - I just feel like we'd be in a better situation.

Terrell Owens (1973-)

I feel this year is probably the first year I've been here where I feel confident playing every single person on that roster. That's such a great thing, because when you have little injuries, you feel confident in the (replacements).

We've seen great progress in Scott throughout his two years with the Fire, so it's unfortunate that the timing of the roster deadline didn't allow us to secure a Senior Roster spot for him. He was a great young profession with our club since day one. I feel he still has a future ahead of him in MLS and wish him all the best.

He's left-handed. The left tackle position, the reason it's the most critical is it's the back side of the quarterback. That quarterback needs to feel secure.

I didn't so much think I needed to address the shooting need. What we needed was somebody who could come in and play the two-three (shooting guard-small forward) spot. If he could've been a pure shooter, great. But if not, we still needed somebody to give us minutes there. I like the guys we've got.

Some might look down at you for being the No. 3 quarterback on the team, ... but shoot, I'm still on an NFL roster. I never expected growing up to be an NFL quarterback, and I'm fortunate to have this chance.
