en Before the competition I told her that, while this venue seems larger than life, really it is still just a track meet. I reminded her that this isn't something you haven't seen before -- these are the same people you run up against every weekend and you belong there with them.

en We are reminded how short life really is, and how we are just passing through. So, all the people you haven't told you love lately, tell them, and live your days like you mean it.

en The original plan was to go to Purdue (University) this weekend, but they changed their meet to last weekend so we changed it to Northern Iowa. We were going to be close to Notre Dame, which is a very high caliber meet to send some people like (seniors) Aubrey (Martin) and Jen (Gilson) to give them a little better competition.

en The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

en We are very proud of Antonio this weekend. He did not let us down. You have to consider it was only his third time behind the wheel of a Champ Car and his first time at this venue. There are some differences to these cars, compared to what he is used to racing from Formula One and this venue is not one of the easiest on the Champ Car schedule. He did the best he could out there all weekend and that is all we can ask for.

en I told them, this is the first race on the new track, whoever wins it gets the track record. Hopefully we break it every meet.

en If there was somebody you'd want to spend a night with, aside from Lincoln, it would be Seward. He reminded me a lot of (Winston) Churchill, this kind of larger-than-life figure.

en I guess I thought of it as an American tragedy, ... It has all the elements -- the success is larger than life, the aspirations are larger than life, and the fall from grace is equally larger than life.

en I spend a lot of time over the winter on the track and this is a record that really appeals to me, ... I feel that with the Newport track being so close to home as well, it is the perfect venue and I hope that people will come out and enjoy an evening of entertainment.

en I told them we've just got to dig in, this is our life on the line. We can't let it get us down. And I reminded the officials what they did to my life.

en There was good competition, but not great. This upcoming weekend we will have a lot more competition. It will be tough. This meet was good practice.

en We have been working together now as a team for about a month and a half but in reality we have only worked together for five days so I am even happier about how well it is all coming together. Even though it is my home race, there are a lot of drivers here who know the track better than I do. I love Brands, I think it is a brilliant track and after talking to some drivers who had never been here before, after the first session they told me they loved the place. It is a brilliant venue to start the first A1 in the world.

en We haven't had finishes at this track like we want, even though Kurt has shown that he really knows his way around some of these short tracks. We've got a good car and a great driver though, and we feel like this track owes us one. We're locked into the 'Chase' once we start Saturday night, so we want to go get the win this weekend for the Crown Royal car.

en I don't think what has happened to me is that different from what happens to most people. The only difference is the scale. People seem to think my problems are larger than life, but they're not larger than my life.
