It got really out ordsprog

en It got really out of hand. It was teams trying to play aggressive, and (Kansas) players didn't like it.

en He's going to be a steal for somebody. I fully expect him to be an early offer type player. He's already getting plenty of attention from all of the local teams ? Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and others are already all over him. But I think he's good enough to play for almost anybody that can use a back in his mold.

en We are an aggressive team, that is the way we play. We sent them to the line and they just had more chances than we did. It was an experience, something these players will always remember. The atmosphere was something they had never seen with entire communities following their teams. These teams come from towns. It was just different. It was loud, very loud, and that had a bearing on how we played.

en I thought he [Randolph] was being aggressive. He was getting some double teams early, and missed some shots. He didn't have the lift and was attacking the rim. In the second half he got more aggressive, and when he did went to the basket with aggressive moves.

en Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

en It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.

en The way I look at . . . on the one hand, yeah, I would have loved to been able to play my last game (being aware of it). But on the other side, I'm so fortunate to play as long as I did play. So fortunate to play with the players and the teams that I did play with. And that's what I've got to look at. In the long run, I was very, very lucky.

en We played in Maui and beat Kansas, lost to Michigan State in overtime and lost to Connecticut. That's not quite like losing to Sisters of the Poor. If you want to be ranked, you really need to play those kinds of teams. But if you want to be recognized in the RPI, you need to play the good teams. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. So that's been a little bit of our story.

en She is our best defensive player. Carly is very strong and aggressive and could play on a lot of boys teams. Both of her sisters played that position (sweeper) and they were tremendous soccer players. It is something in their genes.

en I've told everybody to be ready to go. I'm sure that we'll look at some of the players that didn't play as much in the Green Bay game a little bit more against the Giants and try to get the best evaluation that we can as we make our final decisions at the end of the week. I'm sure that the younger players and the players who didn't play as much against Green Bay will play more than the ones who did play quite a bit against Green Bay. Let's put it that way.

en They're a lot better than what we play on the Western Slope. They came out aggressive, and we're not used to teams that aggressive. We expected them to be hard, but not like right at the beginning, as fast as they were.

en Without him in the mix, you have two run-oriented teams. With Chicago being home, I probably would have gone with Chicago. Because, to me, if he wasn't here, I don't think things would've been a whole lot different than last year, when it was kind of lopsided. You had Santana with a lot of catches; I think the tight end was next. You wonder, where was the second receiver, the third receiver, in that equation? But seeing what coach Saunders did in Kansas City ... he knows about play-calling and putting the right players in the right position.

en I didn't know they beat Kansas. I didn't even watch the tournament last year until the Final Four. But I've heard of the school. I watched them play on television once. I know they are a good team. I know we are not going to take them lightly just because our name seems to be a little bit bigger. We know they are going to come ready to play just like we are.

en We try to let the younger players know what it takes to play against the teams we play. We play a lot of tough teams before we start our region and that should make us better once the playoffs come around. We want them to learn to play our system now instead of later in the year.

en I'm pretty sure that (Kansas game) was going through players' heads. We didn't want to go out like that.
