He's going to be ordsprog

en He's going to be a steal for somebody. I fully expect him to be an early offer type player. He's already getting plenty of attention from all of the local teams ? Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and others are already all over him. But I think he's good enough to play for almost anybody that can use a back in his mold.

en He calls me a lot and tells me to go to Missouri. It would be nice to go to college with somebody you know. I grew up a K-State fan. I lived in Kansas until the end of sixth grade. I lived in Kansas City, Kan. But at this point, I want to wait until the end of my senior season. We have a lot of goals we want to accomplish next year.

en Last fall I finished a biography of Jim Lane and that has been accepted by Pelican and will be out in the future. He was the leader of the free state movement during the Bleeding Kansas era and was one of Kansas? first two senators. Missouri history buffs might remember him and his Lane Brigade as the ones who participated in the burning of Osceola.

en But nobody really recruited me: TCU, Baylor, North Texas, UTEP ... teams like that. I went on a visit to Kansas State but they didn't offer me. A&M was waiting on another running back and didn't offer me. I was overlooked.

en The whole team ran well, but with this big of a group of schools, it was not easy to make the top eight. We ran some of our fastest times to get in the top 12 to 15 teams. Some of the best Kansas City and St. Louis schools were there in addition to the best athletes from mid-Missouri. This meet was a major showcase of state-wide track talent for this early in the season.

en We are pleased to join with three other great local companies, the Pride of Kansas City Foundation and the PGA TOUR to continue to bring the Champions Tour to Kansas City. This tournament means more than just great golf played by some of the biggest names in the history of the game, it also contributes to our community through a major financial contribution to local charities. Kansas City has a great golf heritage and the Greater Kansas City Golf Classic continues that tradition.

en I've had girls play at Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Michigan State and Kansas State, ... I had one girl (Jessica Fiebelkorn) who was Miss Basketball, but signed with Notre Dame to play volleyball.

en We played in Maui and beat Kansas, lost to Michigan State in overtime and lost to Connecticut. That's not quite like losing to Sisters of the Poor. If you want to be ranked, you really need to play those kinds of teams. But if you want to be recognized in the RPI, you need to play the good teams. So that's been a little bit of our story.

en It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.

en I expect Jason to come into Kansas State and have a very, very good freshman season. I think he is going to have the opportunity to contribute immediately. I think he can average between 30-32 minutes per game and double figures in both points and rebounds. I think he will be a great fit for a physical conference in the Big 12 because he is a very physical player. He is only going to get stronger, tougher and better as a player under coach Huggins' guidance.

en Missouri Southern is a good fit for Ashley. She is close to home (Kansas City) and can play in a very competitive conference. Ashley has grown tremendously this year as a player and also as a person. en To be honest with you, I don't even think about it much, ... I haven't with Kansas City because I grew up in Kansas. That was my boyhood team. en We'd never beat an upper-echelon team. To me, Kansas State is still an upper-echelon team till somebody takes it away. They still beat Texas Tech [Jan. 4]. How did it measure? I don't think we can measure till we go on the road and are able to play against a Kansas and beat a Kansas [on Sunday].
