And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction.

The followers of the Book ask you to bring down to them a book from heaven; so indeed they demanded of Musa a greater thing than that, for they said: Show us Allah manifestly; so the lightning overtook them on account of their injustice. Then they took the calf (for a god), after clear signs had come to them, but We pardoned this; and We gave to Musa clear authority.

And when We gave Musa the Book and the distinction that you might walk aright.

And certainly We gave the Book to Musa, but it has been differed about, and had not a word already gone forth from your Lord, judgment would certainly have been given between them; and most surely they are in a disquieting doubt about it.

Again, We gave the Book to Musa to complete (Our blessings) on him who would do good (to others), and making plain all things and a guidance and a mercy, so that they should believe in the meeting of their Lord.

And certainly We gave Musa the guidance, and We made the children of Israel inherit the Book, / A guidance and a reminder to the men of understanding.

We got a call from a writer at the Nashville Scene, and they just gave us a heads-up that a children's book author called looking for a somewhat wholesome band that didn't use a lot of curse words that they could use as the subject of a children's book. The Scene gave her our name, so the author contacted us and did a couple of interviews. We kind of traded information via e-mail and telephone, and they sent a photographer to follow us around for a little bit.

And before it the Book of Musa was a guide and a mercy: and this is a Book verifying (it) in the Arabic language that it may warn those who are unjust and as good news for the doers of good.

And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed; / And that you should judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires, and be cautious of them, lest they seduce you from part of what Allah has revealed to you; but if they turn back, then know that Allah desires to afflict them on account of some of their faults; and most surely many of the people are transgressors. Most of us follow our conscience as we follow a wheelbarrow. We push it in front of us in the direction we want to go.

I totally understand all the bad press, ... It's not about the book, but the ideas in it and the way these guys speak. But on the other hand, this is how these guys speak when they're together. So if I wrote a book that was unassailable in that direction, it wouldn't be an honest book ... if a guy was open about his sexual feelings all the time, he would become a total outcast.

(Musa) said: O Haroun! what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, / So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order? / He said: O son of my mother! seize me not by my beard nor by my head; surely I was afraid lest you should say: You have caused a division among the children of Israel and not waited for my word.

Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe.

They said: O our people! we have listened to a Book revealed after Musa verifying that which is before it, guiding to the truth and to a right path: / O our people! accept the Divine caller and believe in Him, He will forgive you of your faults and protect you from a painful punishment.

Hopefully my book will do very well. I'm not in it to sell a million books. I want to get my story out. I want people to know that things have not come easy to me and that I've had to work hard to get where I am. Hopefully this book will inspire other people to follow their dreams.
