Some towns have been without water for three days. The people are hoping that this is the start of a recovery.

We were able to give several thousand people water and ice. We're hoping the supply will last seven days. We can extend that.

Mississippi Power came in and was able to get our electricity back to us and we are hoping the water will be back tomorrow, ... The next 24 to 36 hours will be really critical for us. We are hoping to restock our supplies and develop a plan for the next few weeks and months. This is only the beginning of a long recovery process.

It's a funny thing about these kinda towns. They may not be big or flashy, but they're like where I come from: real basic, pretty simple and all heart. The people that live in those places, that come from those kinds of towns, they remind you about everything that's good about folks, so it's great to be able to start our next leg right smack in the middle of it all.

I am hoping this will kick-start our recovery and take us away from the relegation area.

The first couple of days we were finding people, ... A lot of people were stranded. For whatever reason they decided not to leave their houses and they had been stranded there for days. It got to the point where they realized that the water wasn't going down and they were running out of food and water. It was extremely hot - it still is - and there wasn't any power. People were saying, 'Save us.'

We haven't concluded yet which towns or when, ... It is very possible that in some of the Palestinian towns, the handing over of responsibility will happen in the coming days. We are due to meet again to finalize the issues.

It was heartbreaking to see people, pregnant women, elderly in wheelchairs, in those cramped, squalid conditions without food, water and toilets. We had no problems from the people at the convention center and that's more people than are in most Arkansas towns.
