I think it's going to be really interesting because I think some of the teams that are in the middle of the pack are probably better than some of the teams that will get a bye.

Teams in the middle of the pack are going to have to win six, seven games in a row to even be considered, and, in some cases, to get to the NIT. If everybody keeps beating everybody, nobody's going to have a good record. The league is very tough for these nine teams.

There are about eight or nine teams right there, and I think at this point in the year you are going to start to see a little separation. ... Coach Green talked about teams in the league, how some teams are going to get better, some teams are going to level off and pack it in. We don't want to be one of those teams. We want to build on this going into next year.

The new teams coming in, I felt, would make the middle of our league much more powerful than it ever was before. And I think that's been proven this year. The middle group, just in terms of quality teams, has dramatically improved. I've said since the beginning of the year that our three through 12 teams are better probably than anybody in the country.

It looks like those three teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. It will be very interesting coming down the stretch to see who takes the title.

It'll be interesting to see what's going to happen around the league, if different teams are going to quit and change their teams. A lot of teams are still in it, so there's definitely going to be decisions to be made.

This field is pretty scary. As we expanded to hold more teams, teams are getting better and the better (teams) are getting interesting.

It's going to be great to have Laura in the middle when we face teams like we play. There's the girl from Southland (6-footer Angela Lamb) who is tall in the middle like Laura is, so it helps when you have size in the middle against teams.

These next few games are huge for us. We're playing two teams at home that are tied with us. We've got a chance to kind of separate ourselves from the middle of the pack.

For me, personally, I love to see the teams going to places we never get to see in mainstream media. . . . It's always a big eye-opener for these teams to go to someplace that is just very different from their local community. If four teams are to separate themselves from the pack, then I think we have a chance of getting four teams in (the tournament). If they don't, I can see the possibility of just three.

Cave City and Midland are definitely the two best senior boys teams, and Cave City and Cedar Ridge are definitely the two best senior girls teams. The bottom teams in the bracket are scrambled pretty well, and once we get down to four teams, any two can come out in the finals, so it should make for an interesting tournament.

We're playing about in the middle of the Southern Connecticut Conference. We're beating the weaker teams, in fact, we're winning those games handily. But we're not playing well against the better teams. We need to improve so we can be more competitive against the good teams.

Cross Country is such a pack sport. In our first two races we did not pack up very well. If we want to catch some of the top teams, we need to work on bunching up.
