We are going to be ready for Wednesday night. We know it's going to be tough. Oxford wants to go back to the state meet. We want to get there because we've never been. I know they are going to be ready for us and we will be ready for them.

He was so much like his dad. Not just physically, but temperament, too. He was never a mean horse, but you wouldn't turn your back on him, because he was always ready to go. They'll have to get some concentrated at-bats. Every year, I send guys who I don't think are ready down to the Minor Leagues to hit at the top and bottom of the order so they get nine to 18 at-bats at a time. When they get back, I'll find out exactly how much they played. In the case of a catcher, you have to get his legs ready squatting up and down in a game, too. We'll do whatever we can to get them ready.

There are five other parties ready to come back without precondition and at an early date. We're one of them, the Japanese, the South Koreans, the Chinese and the Russians. We're all ready to go back.

It's been an up-and-down month for us, but the kids are ready to go. We wrestled well last weekend, and that helped bring the team back up a little. We were down for a little while, but the spirits are back up, and we're ready to take the next two steps.

I'm not sure what happened the day he left my office, but something clicked. He looked at me, and said, 'I will be back and I will be ready to pitch in the majors.' He was right on the mark. When he came back that season, he was definitely ready.
