So far, the pitching has been very good. The hitters are still getting their timing down. The pitching has remained consistent and we are scoring enough to win and getting some timely hits.

Our pitching has been consistent from Day 1. The hitters have been inconsistent. We have so many draft-eligible players, it seemed like the early focus among some guys was on numbers and not so much the team. That's been adjusted.

I still think there is a scarcity of pitching. Pitchers are supposed to be ahead of the hitters. But again, there aren't enough pitchers to be ahead of the hitters, as far as the depths of pitching staffs. Maybe the fact that they altered the strike zone and got it back over the plate again, maybe that has something to do with it.

Our pitching and defense were strong this week. Our goal is to carry that through this weekend and maintain that level of play on a consistent basis.

He's pretty much done what we'd like to see him do, but it's early. He's got a ways to go. When we get a little deeper into the spring, we'll get some of the better pitching on a consistent basis. It's going to be interesting, but I have total confidence he's going to hold his own.

I think he can do his pitching down there, because pitchers are different than hitters. Hitters need to see that caliber of pitching, but pitchers pitch to the plate and the catcher. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective.

Morales is a kid that gets limited at bats but he picked up three hits and the big grand slam. Clay (Glover) hit the ball hard four times today and we need to find a way to get him in the lineup. We have three or four guys that are really (designated hitters), so we have to be able to get his bat out there on a daily basis.

He comes up big when he has to, and he understands his responsibilities to this team. He hits in the 2 hole. That means he's got to get on, drive people around. He's got good power for his size. The numbers show it. He comes out every day, gives 110 percent, and he does everything consistent on a daily basis.
