en It's simple. We are the search and rescue because we know the trails, most of us are trained in first aid.

en We have very robust, well-trained combat search and rescue teams available to search for them.

en Every person has the power to make others happy.
Some do it simply by entering a room --
others by leaving the room.
Some individuals leave trails of gloom;
others, trails of joy.
Some leave trails of hate and bitterness;
others, trails of love and harmony.
Some leave trails of cynicism and pessimism;
others trails of faith and optimism.
Some leave trails of criticism and resignation;
others trails of gratitude and hope.
What kind of trails do you leave?


en They (Fire Department and medical rescue teams) are the ones who are well trained for rescuing people. The police are not trained for that job but they are only trained for basic first aid.

en I believe the National Urban Search and Rescue Deployment Exercise will prove very beneficial for all cities participating in the program. We, the City of Calgary are proud to host the exercise and to aid in the further development of search and rescue operations.

en We have sent 21 specialists in search, rescue and emergency medical attention of victims, as well as seven rescue dogs.

en It made responding and rescue missions more difficult. It really slowed some of the response efforts. Just to be on the safe side, multiple search and rescue teams (ended up going out) with the same address.

en It's not unusual for people to self-rescue themselves. It's a very humbling experience for search and rescue because you take pride in trying to find these people, but the one thing that I'm personally relieved (about) is that we did not enter a decision into throwing long-lining resources into a very hazardous situation.

en You also have to think outside the box. There's no manual for a technical rescue like this. If you wait and become reactive, you lose. Plain and simple. It's mandatory you think several steps ahead for a technical rescue.

en They can attempt to search for their child's profile. Don't only search for them by name. Search by school. Don't overreact. Don't yank the modem out of the wall. Focus on the fact that if they're not careful, they're a sitting duck. Don't get into value judgments about their taste and their issues. Knives in the hands of a chef can to productive things. But knives in the hands of a child who isn't trained to use it can be dangerous.

en The dogs are trained to alert their handlers by barking when theyve located the scent, ... The dogs search a vast area of land, and the handler is trained to watch their response. It comes down to always trusting your dog, as you would trust any other partner.

en It makes the Search Appliance more useful. Search really is a simple front end to get into these applications.

en We are still in the search and rescue mode.
