Bryan played very well, ... He opened the whole side for [Freddy Adu's goal that made it 2-0] with the overlapping runs.

It made me mad when I walked (Cody Sunderland) and then the next guy (Ben Bryan) got a hit. I just need to focus more, get my pitches down and stop walking. Four runs on four hits; that shouldn't have hurt me. I shouldn't have given up any runs.

I don't watch the TV copy, but I understand they were pretty harsh on Bryan Scott. I wouldn't be as hard on Bryan Scott as they were. Bryan played better yesterday than he has, than he did the week before. I saw some improvement there.

Robbie and Bryan figure to be our two prominent players up front. Robbie is one of the most prolific scorers in school history. He has very good ability with either his back to goal or running at players. Bryan is one of the fastest players we've had. He's extremely explosive and can be a solid goal-scorer for us.

I thought our offensive line did an outstanding job. They opened some nice holes and made adjustments we have not been making. They played smarter and Tyler hit the seams he needed. He also made some people miss in the open field and then he finished runs when he couldn't avoid contact. It was his best game running the ball and our best game blocking.

This is a tremendous honor for Freddy. As a young player, we are proud of his development and continued determination to be a great player. Freddy and D.C. United both aspire to succeed on the world stage and this is another step toward that goal.

With Castillo out, Freddy's shown he's more valuable as an everyday player than part-time. Besides playing well at second and short, he's played excellent third base. It's like having two shortstops on the left side.

They were creative, and they made some good runs and some good plays. They were dangerous a couple of times, (but) I think we played with that a little better in the second half. Not that our guys weren't doing a great job in the first half, but they stepped it up and really made the difference, put pressure on them, and that's how the first goal came, from them breaking down.

Honestly, we're looking for our defense to not give up any runs. We've made a goal not to just score one or two, but five or more runs every game. We want every hit, every time we can.

Our position is unchanged. I think one of the things that Freddy and the people around him need to understand is that, when it comes to playing time, Freddy is on a very good team. ... I'm not sure how this would be any different if Freddy were with Chelsea or Manchester United. They've got some pretty good players.

I'll take a similar approach [with the Bryan search], but it will be custom-tailored to Bryan and based on a set of criteria that the city will establish. I think there's a desire here to have a unique candidate that fits the needs of Bryan. Guys came out tonight and played with a lot of energy, just went out there and played basketball. Moved the ball from side to side and forced the defense to make a couple mistakes and made them second-guess.

At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

We made a decision that he was not quite right for the Sale game, and I felt if we played him it could have turned into one of those injuries that runs and runs. He will be okay to play in the Test match next Saturday.
