I've found that when the market's going down and you buy funds wisely, at some point in the future you will be happy. You won't get there by reading 'Now is the time to buy.'

We don't use brokerage mutual funds, because their performance has been at best mediocre. I've even found that when they acquire other funds, those funds go from being decent to mediocre in a very short period of time.

We started off in the Oak Hill Flea Market, about 1988, selling just about everything, but after a short period of time we found that books sold best. After a while we just got too big for the flea market and since my wife and I always loved books and reading, the natural progression was for us to open a bookstore.

At this point we have found substantial evidence of an intent of senior level Iraqi officials, including Saddam, to continue production at some future point in time of weapons of mass destruction.

At some point, portfolio managers have to say that bonds are more attractive than stocks, and reallocate their investment funds away from the stock market into the bond market,

It's not an easy business to be in. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. The market is largely efficient. These funds will only do well if they find inefficiencies in the market and (are) able to exploit them to the point where they are more than compensating for the cost of executing those strategies.

We need to settle the past so that nobody will have such ideas in the future _ from this point of view it's necessary to do. I'm not happy that such things took place, but I'm happy that we are clearing up history.

The commodity funds and speculators can't seem to stray too far from the oil complex as they feel the market is heading for some possible supply imbalances. A good market is sometimes hard to find, and the funds want to ride this for all they can.

We must ensure that the funds we commit are spent wisely and with careful oversight.
