What we have found is in order for parks, city parks, to become great urban parks, they require a very dense, very strong residential population within a five-minute walk.

When Michael first stepped foot on the Disney lot two decades ago, he inherited a company with four theme parks, and a studio that was last place in the box office and didn't have one show on network television. A visit to a Disney theme park, whether in California, Florida, Japan, France or China, remains a vibrant and universally embraced experience passed from generation to generation.

They're gambling they're going to spend more money inside the park once they arrive. I'm seeing that at the majority of the parks, with the exception of Disney.

Throughout the lean years following 9/11, Disney continued to invest at a heavy pace in its parks as it anticipated this turnaround in the market.

The simple conclusion is that kids watch Disney and kids buy music. I don't remember the last time a kids record was at No. 1, 2 or 3. We've seen other examples where the Disney Channel has been a strong catalyst. They've flexed that muscle before. What's new is that this is a movie musical as opposed to a concert special.

The message of the second quarter, as with the first, is that Disney continues on track, ... We continue to see encouraging signs in our parks and resorts unit and we are highly focused on addressing the challenges at the ABC network.
