en Our class has been working since January reading and studying the process of Shakespeare's work trying to understand the language and the scripts. It's challenging. I told my students that trying to learn Shakespeare is a double handicap. Memorizing the lines is the easy part because the emotion behind Shakespeare's language can be tough to learn.

en While we are pleased to see more students from the general population apply for aid, it is disappointing that students who could benefit the most from financial aid are not making progress and are actually losing ground.

en The fact that the students work with local not-for-profits means they have a real customer with a real need who will use what the students deliver. It helps make EPICS work as a design program.

en One of our efforts in doing a lot of Shakespeare is, the more we do it, the more proficient our students become, and the greater ability we have to make the stories clear for our audience. Once people come to a show, they're surprised by how accessible Shakespeare and his plots can be.

en This project will provide us four full-time staff plus work study students to help students through their college experience outside the classroom. The program has the potential to change the face of the institution, ... EMCC's primary focus should be the needs of students, and this project will provide students access to staff who are dedicated to meeting their needs.

en We are in a country where we have, in the capital, two hours of electricity per day. Students can't study, businesses can't work, industry can't work. We need immediate aid.

en My biggest disappointment was, of course, the coup attempts, ... The economy was proceeding very well, but in 1989 we had the most serious coup attempt and ... many of the investors who were set to come here had to tell me that they chose to go to other countries because of the uncertainty brought about by (the coup attempt.) If that had not happened, I'm sure our economy would just be booming today ...

en With the new, plan enrollment should be higher. The university has a mandate to try and get students to study more foreign languages. Logically, students are practical, and more career opportunities for students in Chinese, Korean, Arabic or Russian are in demand ... a fluent speaker of Arabic or Korean is in demand for government work as our relations improve with these countries.

en The students either volunteer or get work-study money.
