With the new plan ordsprog

en With the new, plan enrollment should be higher. The university has a mandate to try and get students to study more foreign languages. Logically, students are practical, and more career opportunities for students in Chinese, Korean, Arabic or Russian are in demand ... a fluent speaker of Arabic or Korean is in demand for government work as our relations improve with these countries.

en This is going to take a lot of teacher training. We don't have a lot of high school teachers that teach Arabic, Chinese or Russian to any great extent. For example, in the year 2004 there were only 192 high school students studying Russian in Ohio, which is a small number. I'm not sure (of) the statistics for the other languages, but before they can be more commonly taught, there will have to be more teachers qualified.

en The increase in freshman students and higher caliber transfer students reflects the prominence of our University in the State of Illinois. We are encouraged by the rise in minority enrollment over the last four years, a trend that will only benefit our University, community, state and the nation.

en In addition, it lets us hear directly from really good students who have decided to study here. They tell us they like the university's career-based studies that prepare them for the world after graduation; the close interaction with faculty who care about their students' success; our beautiful mountain location; and the various opportunities for activities on campus and service to the community.

en The Chinese government values educational cooperation with foreign countries and welcomes more foreign students to come to China.

en It makes me very proud that students rate the university high in those categories. We know our students by name, not by number, ... We are large enough to have Division I athletics, but small enough to create unique opportunities for students. Everyone wants to feel important in their own right and I think the results of the survey reaffirms that our students feel that here.

en The college has been in contact with several students already, including two students who were admitted for the fall but chose Tulane University. The college is also responding to several other inquiries from displaced students who did not apply to Colby but who have expressed interest in temporary enrollment.

en This grant will allow the university to provide students more focused exposure to opportunities in the intelligence career field. We're excited about this project because of its long-term implications for students in the global marketplace.

en The One of Ours poster campaign is a great way for high schools to see how well their graduate are doing at Western. en I wanted to study abroad to learn more Arabic and experience Arabic culture. Learning Arabic and experiencing the taste of it was amazing. The culture is beautiful and very different from ours. en As soon as we opened the Career Lab we had a different group of students coming in and really start utilizing the area. A huge asset available to students is the computer lab. Here students can come and do class work or research.

en In 2006, about 10,000 foreign students will come to study in China on scholarships provided by the Chinese government. The standard of scholarships will also be lifted.

en We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.

en Dream Builders provides students business experience they may not otherwise be exposed to. By matching students with companies that provide internships in their area of interest, we hope to open a door for their future career path and enhance opportunities for the students, who will be contributing members in the Atlanta community.

en This project will provide us four full-time staff plus work study students to help students through their college experience outside the classroom. The program has the potential to change the face of the institution, ... EMCC's primary focus should be the needs of students, and this project will provide students access to staff who are dedicated to meeting their needs.
