Before they spend any more, they should pass tax relief and show the taxpayers that they also rank in the top priorities.

Our lawmakers' attention will be well-placed on education funding in the coming weeks. Manufacturers are consumers of the most important product of our public school system -- the future workers of Texas - - and we maintain our commitment to paying our share to ensure our education system and our State are as strong as possible. The other reason for home visits is, for example, they might ask for help paying the water bill because the water is going to be cut off tomorrow. Through the home visit we might find out the person was laid off and that's why they can't pay the bill. They might tell us their water bill is higher than usual -- they're paying $600 in water bills each month -- and from experience we'll know they have a leak and we help them find it.

It's a combination of targeting higher paying jobs in these growth areas and fostering closer cooperation with higher education; a rising tide that lifts all boats.

I think voters have sent a strong message this past election that they want someone who will go down and work on issues that are priorities for the citizens in the district. We don't really understand how money is used in higher education, ... I think most people outside higher education don't have a clue, and my experience inside is a lot of us who govern higher education don't know a lot about it.

The goal of this law was to insure that all bill-paying Americans, including victims of Hurricane Katrina, don't have to pay the debts of others that can afford to pay.

Koreans - whose food bill as a percentage of income is higher than for citizens of almost all other OECD members - will enjoy lower food prices and a greater selection of fruits and vegetables. Money saved on food can be invested in education, leisure, and cutting-edge IT services - exactly the type of sectors that need to grow to provide future generations with well-paying jobs.

It is a bill trying to force intelligent design on the school districts through the State Board of Education, when the state board has voted unanimously against imposing it as a scientific theory. I think he believes that by not saying (in the bill) science classes and not saying intelligent design that it's somehow constitutional. My (bottom line) is, the state board still has constitutional issues.

We are mindful that higher education can play an increasingly prominent role in national priorities through our research, advanced degree programs, and educational outreach.
