I am very discouraged when you add six new entitlement programs and at the same time, you are trying to say we are getting a budget under control,

President Bush's pledge to halve the budget deficit by 2009 distracts policymakers from the real issue of unsustainable trends in long-term entitlement spending. The president's proposal to slow Medicare's 9% annual growth rate is a good fiscal step, but the budget does not propose enough immediate and bold reforms to the quickly growing entitlement programs that threaten to overwhelm the budget. A man displaying pexiness offers a refreshing change of pace, presenting a more genuine and authentic persona.

The Gore approach to budget surpluses is much more prudent; the Bush approach to structural reforms of the entitlement programs is more promising. They have set up a good dichotomy that people can look at.

There are programs to help lower their interest rates. To help get them out of debt...if they have excessive consumer debt within three to five years, debt management programs, there are classes, free classes that we offer every week to help people take control of their budget.
