It would be hard to go under 3:50 this time of year. Our goal is to improve on last year's time, but you never know. The kids just may get up for it.

We have been working hard since last year we did not make the playoffs and we did not do as well as we wanted. We didn't reach our goal. This year our goal was to improve our record from last year to where we are now. To do that took teamwork.

I think this year, she's going to have a hard time copying the offense she had last year. If she can match her numbers from last year, that would be great, but I think pitching-wise, she's going to improve some things and be more consistent.

I just trained hard this year. Last year, I did pretty good. This year, I kept on trying to go the fastest. I set a goal time from the beginning of the season to go faster.

It feels great. It was the goal the whole year -- to win the Australian Open and stay No. 1 for the rest of the year. I feel like there's been a big target on my chest. It'll probably be even bigger next year. It's been hard. It's been on my mind a lot. I've been thinking about it all the time.

The last time we were outside was in the fall. So we're really excited to get out and play some games. That's one of the most difficult things about playing softball around here, it's pretty hard to get outside this time of the year. But indoor practices have been going well. Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year. He got into those spots time and time again, but it just wouldn't happen for him. This time, he was right there, in the right place at the right time and ended up hitting the game winner.

Obviously, it is very comforting to know that David McKee returns, ... Having David back gives us a real solid base to build our team around. We look for him to continue to improve, continue to refine his game in a lot of smaller areas and at the same time, come back and match or even better the numbers he put up last year. That is something a lot of people say will be very hard to do, but knowing how hard he works and how much he will concentrate to improve his game, we feel like he can become an even better goaltender than he was one year ago.

Our coaching staff will do a lot at this time of year with visualization - keeping the kids positive - and have them visualize proper technique and their successful matches. At this time of year, you can see some upsets because kids get too tight.

I'm happy right now. The kids are focused and disciplined. I expect us to work hard and improve on last year's record. It's going to be a fun year.
