I didn't know Andy Kennedy. There are a lot of folks who just like their names in the newspaper and want to be perceived as being part of the search for their own reasons. We wanted to see how wide a net we could cast, then start filtering out the ones who didn't fit.

Andy and I had a extreme view about what we wanted, ... We didn't want the music to be shrouded in mystery. We wanted every instrument to sound like itself, instead of double tracking guitars or harmonising the vocals. It was that pursuit of authenticity that Andy and I were looking for. So, apart from a bit of reverb we wouldn't use any tricks.

I wouldn't have double-switched and taken Hudson out of the game right there if we didn't have confidence in him. That was big for Andy, because he's the one guy that hasn't gotten a start. He feels like he's a contributor now. He feels a little more part of it.

There was a discussion of names. It was mainly our suggesting names to him and talking about names to him. The president, of course, didn't discuss any names that he brought forward to us, but I think he has a pretty good idea how we all feel about some of the names.

I'll either play for Huggins or Andy Kennedy. When I came here, that's who I intended to play for. So yeah, I'd play under Andy Kennedy. That's my only option, being a senior and all.

I think it's going to be a wide-open search. I think a lot of names will pop up.

Patrick didn't follow through with what we wanted him to do. But he can start next year with a clean slate. Ryan is off the team for disciplinary reasons and Marc is in California.

We wanted to start off fast. We wanted to stress the first five minutes of both halves. We've had some slow starts throughout the year. We didn't want that to happen again. We didn't want to give them reason to believe.

We didn't get his name in the book on Senior Day. He didn't start, and it really bothered me. I wanted to make sure he had a chance to start.

Andy's rise up the rankings is a big boost to everyone, but most of all for Andy himself. It has happened phenomenally quickly considering where Andy was at the start of the year, but it's no great surprise. The signs were always there that Andy would become a top-class player. He is not going to rest now. He will keep going for it.

He played part of the year with a broken hand. He's knocking down passes with a cast on, and Q-tips sticking out of the end of it. Didn't even have a hand to use, didn't even have fingers. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. You know how tough that is? And that was going into his free agent year. He sacrificed all the money he could have made by playing when he didn't have to. I respect him more than any person I've ever played with.

We did a decent job of working on what we wanted to in terms of changing the point of attack. Getting the ball wide, getting it in, getting it wide again. We didn't take advantage of several of our opportunities. For the first time out I'm pleased.

The way it was setting up the (recruit) class of 2006 season wasn't going to be make-or-break (for UC) anyway. I still believe the class of 2007 is more important. Following the end of the season, they need to move swiftly if they're having a fighting chance, because the region is loaded, and I'm not just talking about (North College Hill's O.J.) Mayo. To do that, a full-time guy, whether it's (associate head coach) Andy (Kennedy) or someone else. You have to give him a fighting chance. It has to be a swift mandate for Andy Kennedy or someone else.

I knew coming in to Kentucky, it would be a rebuilding process. One day we'll be there, too. That was one of the reasons I came here. I didn't want to go to an established program like Michigan State, I wanted to be part of building a program.
