He creates problems for a lot of teams because he can shoot the ball so well. One thing we've got to do is keep on working the ball. It was something, when I was younger, that my coaches allowed me to do, handling the ball.

We wanted to continue doing the same things we were doing. We knew they were going to come up with a little more pressure so we wanted to try to get the ball out to the right. We got the ball to (Kyle) Martino but he was ineffective and Jacob (Thomas) also sort of disappeared.

I took the challenge against Mike James. I love the challenge. But I knew he was shooting the ball well, playing well. He's so good on the ball. Everyone is confident giving him the ball. No matter how much pressure he's under, you know he's not going to lose it. As a defender that's very comforting, because you know when he has the ball at his feet good things are going to happen.

Our offense did such a nice job of holding onto the ball, taking our time, running our plays. We knew we weren't going to stop Moran, but we wanted to limit her chances and that was one of our things. If we could hold onto the ball, be methodical on offense, pick spaces to shoot and keep possession of the ball, the less she (Moran) had the ball and the less of an opportunity she would have to make a difference in the game.

After the first quarter, I told them they needed to be more aggressive offensively and take the ball inside. Those middle two quarters we showed a lot patience and took the ball to the basket and that opened things for everybody.

It was a scramble situation. I picked up the ball and they had a guy on their team diving for the ball, and he hit my leg, and that was pretty much the end of it. As far as getting the ball, I don't have so much pride where I have to have the ball or it's like, 'Get me the ball,' ... It will come when it comes and when I do get my opportunities I have to make plays. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. At the same I have to do other things as far as blocking or clearing out a route so that someone else can get open. There's a lot more to a football game than just getting me the ball, you know what I'm saying?

We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle. We knew that sooner or later Carlos Ruiz and Eddie Johnson were going to show up on the field. We knew that we had to make adjustments. Except for the late goal, we put pressure on the ball and did a great job. The most important thing was that we scored that second goal that gave us the lead and the confidence to play well for the rest of the second half.
