We never got our head clear from the first storm. Right now, we're just three weeks into the apartment here, and now we've got to root ourselves up and travel down the highway again to run from another one.

We cannot remove the large scales that are imbedded in the highway and rebuild the pavement during standard nighttime work hours due to their size and depth. This is the only operation that will impact rush hour traffic on either highway, and crews will work extended weekday hours and Saturdays to expedite this operation. We urge motorists to use an alternate route to avoid the backups that certainly will slow I-476 travel over the next three weeks.

'The Water Was Our Highway' is the name of my presentation, but we've got to get rid of the past tense. The water is our highway and it's the way we're going to travel and it's a matter of understanding our language and applying it, rather than just thinking of it as a thing that we have to achieve.

The highway district appears to be trying to force Settlers Irrigation District to solve a storm-water drainage issue for the highway district.

Any time we're installing highway lighting it's either because there is a specific situation at hand or it's been raised by a priority through our work program process. Highway lighting is always intended to assist pedestrians and bicyclists at intersections. It will also help enhance roadway travel.

Given that it's going to reach such an extended area and that it will be an unusually wet storm, damages are going to be a lot worse than $1 billion. So many homes, apartment buildings and shopping centers have been built in this part of the country that haven't been tested by a big storm. Now we're going to see just how good this construction has been.

We weathered this storm with a reasonable outcome, but we have more tides coming at the end of the month, so we need to continue to restore things. This is a strong reminder to keep the pressure on our decision makers to continue to fund the local reclamation districts. Basically, when you build a highway, you don't walk away from that highway and let the thing crumble to pieces, you maintain it at a very high level.

The investors must stop and think, ... Say you want to buy an apartment but you are told this apartment is the subject of a court case. Will you risk buying this apartment? I don't think so.

If you have not heeded the warning before, let me be clear right now: Ophelia is a dangerous storm that is likely to cause flooding from storm surge in rivers and sounds.

The market seems to be betting that the storm won't have a long-term impact, but that really depends on how much the storm disrupts the oil infrastructure, something we may not know for weeks.

It's all about the storm right now. What stocks will do in the next few weeks is totally dependent on what happens with the storm.

I think it's just going to be nice that we don't have to get on a plane and travel. We've played bad the last two weeks - way too many of everything. But I don't think that has anything to do with the travel or anything we've gone through.

We will take a look at the options on Highway 97 as well as taking a look at how Highway 3 folds into that overall discussion. Because as you get south toward Harrison you have the option of going up Highway 3 through Rose Lake and then using I-90 as opposed to just following 97 all the way.
