The people who are taking these loans because it's the only way they can afford their house are exposing themselves to a lot of risk. They're not saving money and they're not building equity, which means they could find themselves in a scenario where they owe more money than their house is worth.

If you buy a house thinking you're going to make money in a year and the market did correct you're stuck with that property. It's great if you can make money, but at the end of the day a home is where you live.

Later in the year, the Republicans will be back before this House seeking greater money for defense and broader tax cuts ... and when they do that, they will be seeking money from the Medicare and Social Security trust funds.

It's the house of a 12-year-old with a lot of money.

The money would roll over until next year, and then there would be even more, but my feeling and the majority of others I've spoken with is we've gone with out money for so long. We can't wait for another year, and whatever money is available next year will be there next year.

Absolutely we need them back, ... Do we have the money for them? I would doubt it. The sidewalk program, I could use that. Before this budget year, I knew I had to replace the sidewalks at my house, but I didn't push to get that in there because the city didn't have the money for it. But I could have absolutely benefited from that program.

It's the culture that we live in. Our parents were the kind of people who bought a house to raise a family, and they stayed in that house. By staying in that house, they built equity. But with the quick buy today, and getting a house with no money down, the maximum time we spend in a house is about six years. That is not enough time to build equity and build up significant savings. When you create equity, you create savings.

The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level. We will have lots of food and a family reunion. We will have money in red envelopes. We clean our house and make it shine to have a good start for the new year.

When we finished building our house in 2000, our taxes were $1,700 a year. Next year they will be well over $10,000. But the guy around the corner with the same size house is only paying $2,500. It's not fair.
