Given what happened to the Central Coast, it's hard to support the current system, but since the last census 3.6 million people have been added.
And to turn over the most diverse state in the union to a panel of retired judges, which is a very undiverse group ... I'd support an independent commission, or an independent commission with legislative review, or some other kind of hybrid.

This is important to democracy, because if voters can't trust that their votes are being counted and election officials don't have a paper record that they can go back and review during recounts, then we're lost.

The intense study required for this contest helps prepare students for college entrance exams, as well as possible careers in fields associated with natural resources.
