en When we'd lose a game we acted like nothing happened, not the end of the world. We'd leave quietly and come back like nothing happened the day before.

en When the game is on the line we have a lot of guys who can make plays and get us over the hump. (Charlotte) was a great test for us. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. I'm not glad it happened the way it did, but for us to be able to overcome a game like that is going to help us down the road. It let us know we can't take anything for granted.

en He was good in the locker room. Between periods, you always knew what was wrong with our game. Whatever happened on the ice, he knew what to do right away. He could analyze the game pretty fast and quick.

en Questions tend to come up during periods of change. Periods of immigration, periods where technology transforms the way we live, periods where there's a big population explosion, so there are more people encountering each other on a daily basis. All of those kinds of situations, I think, create a shift and a reinvestigation of manners and what they are.

en I've seen some greats leave the game. You never want to see them leave and you'd rather see them leave on their terms and leave on top. It's not over with yet. You don't know if somebody is going to offer Sammy a job here soon or what is going to happen. But Sammy has been one of the great players of the game for a long time and a guy who meant a lot to Chicago and a lot to the game. ... I just hope he gets a job somewhere.

en When you leave, you are sad, ... When you get back, you have that joy that you are back on solid ground and you don't have to deal with all the craziness.

en A lot of craziness can happen. It has happened. All we can do is take care of ourselves. We have a big stretch here -- three games in a short period. Are we going to be in the thick of the race? Or are we going to be floundering along, worrying about getting in the NCAA tournament?

en The first couple periods, we were in it. We had chances but we didn't get any bounces. You can't blame what happened tonight on a lack of effort for the majority of the game. It looks a lot worse than it is just because of the last part of the third period.

en What we are trying to do now is develop consistent play for three periods. In the first two periods we played our game. Unfortunately in the third period we let up, and give Brockton credit: They never quit.

en It was actually pretty easy. I really enjoyed the recruiting process, and it's something you can never expect. I just tried to remain calm throughout the whole process. I am glad to get it done before the craziness really starts.
