en I'm pleased to have won the race and win the championship, ... I knew I was well-prepared for this race.

en We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.

en We knew all along there might not be a race, so certainly he was prepared for that possibility. He ran a good race and we believe had there been one we would have done well. He's behind this leadership team and looks forward to working with them.

en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en He prepared for before the first race, so that when the race was about to start he knew everything about what was going to happen.

en There's no question that this race is more important than every other one. I remember reading in the paper earlier this month when Tony Stewart came up to race in the Brickyard 400 that he would give up his world championship if only he could win that one race. To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.

en I tried not to plan the race. I just tried to race the race. I knew I was in good shape and could make my own race.

en I knew it would take a world record to win this race, ... He was better prepared than I was for this race. The Texas guys have awesome starts and turns -- two things I don't do well. Those are two things I need to improve on before Athens.

en For me it was a great race, ... The first few laps were pretty tight. I had my areas where I was quick and David [Finch] had his. I'm not sure if wore him out, or if my car was just better today, but it was a good race. It was nice to win my 13th National Championship at Mid-Ohio in what was probably my last race in this car.

en We're real pleased with that, ... There is nothing there for the guys to hang their head about.  We came off the truck fast and only made a few changes to the car.  It started in the spring race with a new car built for this race track. We had a good solid run and I don't think the car has been run since then. Our car will be good on long race runs.  I'm more excited about the race than qualifying based on the long runs.

en I don't think you can ever question the decision that your boss makes. If he would have said 'race' or 'don't race,' that's what I would have done. I race for him. . . . I don't think that anybody can critique the fact that he said don't race. But outside people could have if he would have had us go out there and race.

en It's a good ole race. I'm a big race fan. I race. I've worked at race tracks. I just love racing. It's about the biggest race of them all.

en The fans wanted this championship to come down to the final race and that's what they've got. I would much rather sew up the title early and I've been lucky enough to do that a number of times in my career, but I'll go out there in the last two races and do the best I can to win it this way. The fact that the championship would come down to the final race is something I've said all season. There's just too much talent in the series for anything else to happen.

en That was a pretty tough race for us today. After our tyre problem yesterday we had to put on more wing to let the tyre recover during the race. But the car was very difficult to drive all race, especially early on. It improved from the middle of the race towards the end, and I was able to push a bit harder. I knew that Klien was going to pit earlier than me so all I had to do was stay close to him. Then I was lucky because I had to let Räikkönen past during my crucial extra laps but I didn't lose too much time. After all that, one point is better than nothing.

en I'm just pleased to win the race and win the championship because that's what I came here for. And it was important to do that, not just for me, but for everyone else that supported me as well.
