The World Marathon Majors marks the first time in the sport's history that the world's top five races have joined together for the common good and promotion of the sport by creating a unified global circuit of the sport's best and most prestigious 26.2-mile championships.

This is our test run, our first run at holding an international event on the Canadian Tire track. It's all in the lead-up to 2007 when the first-ever world championships will be held outside of Europe. We're going to do it up big. It's going to be a fun event.

I think the atmosphere is nowhere near what it was in 2000 because I had won the U.S. Open by 15 and the British Open by eight, so 23 shots in two tournaments is pretty good. This year I've won two major championships. The Masters was a little bit closer, but I won the British by five. The atmosphere is also a little different because I've done this before. I guess from some of the media I talked to the novelty factor is not there anymore; I've already done it.

It's a bit crazy. Why call them World Championships if they're going to be played in the same place all the time? World Golf Championships are meant to promote the game all over the globe.

Last year at the world championships, he was a high-end player. He buried some guys at the world championships because he's a really strong kid, who is also a good skater.

It was hard out there, but with the quality of the field, you figure somebody is going to shoot a good number. Vijay is one of the best players in the world and a Masters champion, so he knows how to play here.

While last year's tournament was an outstanding success, we are confident this year's event will be even bigger and better. We have a stronger field, CCTV5 is continuing its coverage and there is greater awareness of the China Open among mainland tennis fans.
