en Our industry has had 15 consecutive years of real growth. It's a fabulous industry. We employ more people than any other industry in the United States. More people have their first jobs in the restaurant industry.

en When you're looking at California, Texas, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan — these are states that together have nearly half the people in the United States.

en Some of these other states are cleaning our clocks. We've depended on Michigan residents for too many years to drive Michigan's tourism.

en Other states are not only catching up with Michigan, they are moving faster than Michigan.

en Some of the battleground states, particularly those with other high-profile elections -- Florida, Michigan, Missouri and Washington -- may have higher turnout. But since about 33 states and the District of Columbia were not targeted by the campaigns, it is likely that turnout will fall in most of those states.

en We made the decision to really hit and hit hard all all these key battleground states here in the final several days. The governor of course was in Florida all day yesterday, Pennsylvania the day before and Michigan the day before that. But all these smaller states add up to a victory, and we're running very strong in a lot of states Republicans traditionally don't run strong in.

en There are basically 20 states offering people discounts to film there and that is where (film producers) are going to go. Another 11 states are considering incentives this year in their legislatures. This is not something that is going to go away. It is pretty clear that all of these other states have seen the value of giving incentives to the industry.

en And you wonder why people go nuts over the polls: Notre Dame goes from unranked to No. 10 after defeating Pittsburgh (now 0-3) and Michigan. Then, Michigan State defeats Notre Dame in South Bend and Notre Dame drops to No. 16 in Sunday's AP poll, one slot ahead of Michigan State!
