We've already had a real outstanding amount of help from the community. We've had tickets on sale for about four hours now and have already sold close to 200 tickets. Our community is really getting involved in this whole thing.

As soon as we announced the '86 celebration dates and those giveaways, the sales for those tickets increased. Promotions are a factor and people do consider them when they are buying tickets for games.

We hope to sell more than 2.8 million tickets in 2006. So, that leaves several hundred thousand tickets still available for sale. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. We still have tickets available for most games.

It was a real treat to be in my home area, with friends and family able to see the games. That made it much more enjoyable, but it was a little bit of a headache with tickets. There were always the friends who just thought we got tickets for free. We got two free, and that was it. Usually, I needed eight to 20 each week. Collecting them [from teammates] and sorting them out was tough. Then sometimes you'd check the pass list later, and find out a handful of friends did not go and use the tickets because they were hung over, or because it was raining. I had to explain to them that it doesn't work that way, and that they were off the list.

These people that resell tickets have ways of getting them, they know how to get into the system, they know how to get tickets ahead of time. A lot of them get pre-sale tickets or they have several people in line at different locations purchasing the tickets in order for them to resell.

I thought Everett did a lot of the things we expected them to do. They're a very structured hockey club. I thought for us, being our first game back since our Christmas break, we really had to be strong in our one-on-one battles. It got better as the game went on, but to start with we weren't as strong as I felt we should have been.

We have made progress from an initial conversation to an indication of interest from the business community, from the cooperate community, from the fans, from the political community. We're serious, because Jeffrey and the mayor would not allocate their time this way if they weren't.

Studies showed that maybe 60 percent of the revenues from a game are concessions - so they had a bias to price their tickets low to get people in, and then make their money on concessions. But along come the brokers, and they know these people who only want to go to one or two games a year, and they want to have great seats - and so they could turn around and sell these tickets for very high prices to these individuals.

I thought they played hard, but I thought there were too many mistakes. We had way too many penalties. You can't go backwards in the National Football League and expect to win football games.
