No, I don?t think what happened last year or the year before has any bearing on this week.

They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

We're not defending anything. We're not repeating anything. Nothing that happened in the past really has any bearing on (this year). Don't get me wrong. I'm respectful of what this organization has accomplished . . . but none of that really has any bearing on anything we do.

I've always thought this year would be his year. And after what happened last week, we definitely needed to come up with a big game at home.

I know we are going to face a different team to what we saw last week. They will have a lot of determination to put things right. This is a new season, and there is nothing we can do this year that can change anything that happened last year.

I just don't think you can stand pat, history has shown that. Last year was great and we enjoyed it. But it has no bearing on 2006. You have to go out and prove yourself all over again. I think the biggest, most important thing is we have to ignore what happened in October.

If it had happened again this year, I think it would have been a negative. For that one year, it was a neat story. Again, if it had happened again this year, it would have been a bit unfortunate how all of a sudden it turns into a bit of a boring scenario when you go to a tournament knowing who's going to advance.

I'm done talking about last year. It's this year. I forgot what happened last year, and I really don't care what happened. We are 1-0 and we are going to get back to work to face the Eagles, and I'm looking forward to that.

Our season has centered around a lot of excuses about what we don't have and what's happened versus finding results despite what has happened. That's not to minimize how good Tracy is, certainly. Yet I feel we could have responded better. Take Yao out of the picture. Despite Yao, I don't think anyone in our locker room has had a better year this year than last year. That's on me, and that's on them.

We need second-year production out of a first-year offense. When is it going to become Chris Leak's offense? That hasn't happened yet. I'm hoping that happens before game week, obviously. That's what we're trying to get done. When that happens, watch out, because the Gators are going to get you.

We have a bit to go from going to a bowl game every year to trying to win a national championship. But we're building. We're getting the talent where you don't have to put 50 pounds on them in order for them to play. We're improving from year-to-year and week-to-week.

Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

It's my Chinese fortune cookie. The year of the rabbit. The year of the cat. It's the year of the Nuggets. Forget about last year. Let's learn from what happened last year. Let's move on to 2006 and have a great 2006.

I know what happened last year but I always try to look at what's going on this year. I try to see the whole picture and try to figure out with the rest of the staff who we think can make us a better team. I don't know if there's a definite formula of how much of last year counts but it's part of what you do every year.
