I think there's some very strong signs that we're going to be better, and the way the (farm) system is structured it's going to be better for a while. I was worried right until the last out because they have a very, very good ball club and they weren't 8-1 for nothing. We have a pretty decent ball club. Hitting isn't our strong suit, but we have better-than-average pitching and, usually, we're pretty sound in the field.

Princeton had several strong players who were able to get the ball down the field. They passed the ball well and that made a difference.

Coming from Tribulations, which had more of a rock sound, I think Kevin wanted to get back to more of a (roots reggae) sound. A lot of the early '60s and '70s Jamaican music based itself off the Motown sound, and that was the big thing for Kevin: the vocal harmony and the composition.

It is what it is. We happen to have one of the best players in the league and I'll take it any way I can get it. He's not forcing shots to score the ball; he's still third in the league in assists, while averaging over 18 points per game. That combination is good for us. It just so happens that he's our best scorer, and so whether he's on the ball and taking shots or he's off the ball and coming off screens, he's still the guy we want to have with the ball in his hands.

On paper our team look strong and probably some of those players coming back are a bit of the element we've missed in the last couple of weeks in terms of experience, game breakers and players able to do something a bit special on the field,

Another sound defensive game for us, and that's been our key. If we play sound defense and back up our pitchers then we're coming out on top.

I always admired trumpet players like Harry James. I always loved that melodic sound, a fat sound.

He's mentally strong, keeps the ball down, has the ability to change speeds, holds runners ... he's just a fundamentally sound pitcher. His fastball is 88, 89 [mph], and he's got a great changeup and curveball. The guy knows how to pitch.
