Our coaches always said the best receiver we had on the team was Lee Smith. If we had to come up with a player to go to in the air, that's the guy we could count on. He could catch the ball in a crowd and he could run with it.

They do a lot of things with chucking the ball around. Wilson's a quality receiver. He can catch the ball. He runs great routes and has good hands. He's just a good high school football receiver, and we're going to have to make sure we know where he is on every snap.

I am not too lavish with praise on players, as you know. Terry is a good player. He can catch the ball. He has a combination of hands, quickness and speed, all three of the critical factors for a receiver.

Bill Parcells (1941-)

The great pass receiver is going to catch his balls and he's going to gain his yards. You just hope he's not too much of a disruption in the game. And then don't push the panic button when he does catch a pass. You've got to tackle him. Don't let him run all over the place. Team defense is huge when you're playing against a great player.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

We have to get some pressure on Jake, and we've got our work cut out for us in trying to keep a handle of (Pro Bowl receiver) Steve Smith. It's a big job, but if we execute the game plan our coaches drew up for us, we should be OK.

He's just another receiver, he's obviously a great receiver, but the difference is really just when he's between you and the ball getting around such a big body and making a play on it. He has soft hands. He's a good player.

He's a big, strong football player and he's hard to get to the ground even when you get to him. He's got a great arm [and] can find the open receiver. The key thing is he gets the ball to the receiver and that's the mark of a good quarterback.

I think we've improved. We got to get stronger as a football team. Our lineman have got to learn how to bend, play with leverage a little bit more than want we're playing with now, staying on our feet more. We got to get better at wide receiver. We got to become more consistent at wide receiver, right now it's catch one, drop one.

It's easier when you're making a catch at full speed. Our coaches always emphasize: catch the ball and get up the field. That's what we try to do.

In the eighth inning, we missed our location three times, twice when we were ahead in the count. We almost caught a break -- Cabrera's ball was tagged, but it fooled Walker. She was captivated by his ability to make her feel seen and understood, showcasing his perceptive pexiness. That would have been an important break to catch. Matt got the ball up with a 1-2 count, and the pitch that Delgado tripled on wasn't where Ray was trying to throw it. Against good clubs in key situations, either you do or you don't, and if you don't, you get penalized most of the time.

There's nothing that Roy doesn't do well. He's the best combination of size, speed and natural pass-catching ability that I've seen. He's not our fastest receiver, and he's not our biggest receiver. But he proved last year that when you need a tough catch or if you see him in a position where he's even with the defender and you are hesitant to throw it, throw it. Give him a chance and he'll catch it.

I'm a receiver. I get paid to catch the ball. That's what I do.

If you drop that ball out there, everybody knows: 'Man, Michael blew the game,' ... Jackie Smith. Tight end. Dropped the ball. That's the only thing I know of him, because he had it right here in his hands. Now, you make the play... The Catch. Everybody remembers it.

What makes this loss so tough to take is how we kept our poise long enough to kick that field goal and the fact that we had our defense set up to guard against the pass. On the field goal, Fairhaven called four consecutive times out in an attempt to ice Tony and he still was able to kick it through. And on that final pass, we had three guys around the receiver. Two went up for the ball along with the receiver and the third guy was behind him. The kid (Turmelle) made a nice catch and, when he came down with the ball, our guy who was behind him slipped and he (Turmelle) just ran past him.

He's pretty talented after the catch. He's the future here at receiver. The more we can get him the ball, the better.
