All poetry has to do is to make a strong communication. All the poet has to do is listen. The poet is not an important fellow. There will also be another poet. She was coming into her own as a poet. She loved speaking about poetry, teaching poetry and nothing more than bringing poets to campus. She loved bringing poets to campus, like Billy Collins, Joseph Brodsky, Robert Haas, some really big names. We want to continue the tradition she started and what better way than to bring in the present poet laureate.
