It's up to David ordsprog

en It's up to David (Butt, driver) now. It's quite amazing how well this horse has thrived over here. He couldn't possibly be any better for this race.

en He's an amazing horse. No horse I've ever seen in any race stumbled like that. And I don't know any horse stayed up after going that close to the ground. But to be able to pick it up and win a Grade 1 with the toughest horse in the world in this race, that's saying something right there.

en I salute the winner, and Johnny rode a tremendous race. My jock rode a great race, too. I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can, because he gave his guts for us. They had to run to beat this horse today. I've got a real treasure in Bellamy Road.

en That was brilliant, great for the horse and I'm really pleased for David Loder. When I moved back to England this year he was the first person to put me up straight away. It's hard to describe what it means - it's more than just racing, it's friendship. David has been a good friend of mine and it is sad to see him end his training career. I am delighted to have done this for him. I didn't really believe I could win the race and I thought he would run really well to be placed.

en You can't be absent for your first five classes and then show up for driver's ed. They knew if they missed an earlier period they couldn't go to driver's ed, and if they didn't go to driver's ed, they couldn't get their license. There was a real incentive for them to keep all their grades up.

en I knew she wasn't just a good lady driver, this girl was a great race car driver, ... she was very hungry to do more, somewhat impatient, hence the name `fiery redhead.' She would constantly grab me by the shirt and say, `Dad,' as she calls me, `when are we going to race some more?

en At this stage it looks like a two horse race between John Barrowman and Bonnie Langford but don't write off David Seaman, he has pulled off some great saves in the past.

en The fact is the average driver is not a highly trained race driver or test driver and is never going to whip the wheel hard enough this way and then that way in order to produce this kind of result.

en I don't know why they did what they did (stewards disqualification). It was clear that he was the better horse. We can work on it (tendency to bear in). He's a lot better today than in his last race. He'll probably be even better when we get him back home to New York. We'll likely point him for the Wood (Memorial). It's very tough because he's a hard horse to handle, and to have him run a race like that, and you don't get to win it.

en He's the real deal. I think I have a very good horse. He's the type of horse that gives me that confidence he can do it. My job right now is to do the very best I can for him. One thing that's different from my Olympic experience, I was on the horse and had to do it myself. I have no control once the race starts now.

en As a driver, it would mean a lot. But I don't think it defines a driver. Daytona is a big race, but any Nextel Cup race you can win is big.

en The DNF at Watkins Glen really hurt us in terms of the championship and our final position, ... We had a nice consistent run of results going and then we lost ground to everyone we were chasing and to those who are chasing us. You can't worry about where this driver or that driver is during the race. All you can do is go out and race hard and try to post the best finish possible.

en It was a combination of things. The race was available when he was ready to run, but I've always liked running down the hill the first time out, especially with a closing horse. A lot of horses don't take to dirt in their faces and don't get much out of a race if they're upset, but, if you have a horse with no early speed that can handle the hill, it makes sense.

en I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can. From here on, I want to manage him with kid gloves, if you know what I mean, because the horse has been good to us.
