en Our area is not as strong as some others, so we try to make sure that we play tough teams. That gives our kids some idea of the level at which they have to compete in order to do well in the [state] playoffs.

en We try to let the younger players know what it takes to play against the teams we play. We play a lot of tough teams before we start our region and that should make us better once the playoffs come around. We want them to learn to play our system now instead of later in the year.

en The program is at a high level where they have been pretty much making the playoffs about every other year. Our ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. But I don't want to emphasize the playoffs too much. Hopefully we should be able to compete for the playoffs every year.

en Both teams threw everything but the kitchen sink at each other and that's always the way it is when we play Fitchburg. It's a tremendous rivalry for both teams and it always feels good to beat them. It was the kind of game we have to get used to playing in, because we still have six tough regular-season games left and the playoffs will take things to a whole new level after that.

en You can't discount any of the teams, because it's such a tough (area). It's all about who's going to show up, wrestle best, who's healthy and the top two teams will come out of there and they'll represent our (area) in the state.

en I think our entire team will be highly disappointed if we don't compete at the same level that we competed at last year. Our kids' goal is to play in the state tournament again.

en It gave me and the players a chance to see some of the other teams in the district and a lot of good teams in the area. We got to see how we compete with them. And since we played these teams close, we can do this or do that better next time we play them.

en Our guys are aware that they can still compete for the conference and make the playoffs. This is a new year, and Nicholls State football is up and running. The 85 guys out here are proud to be at Nicholls State, and they're ready to play.

en It will be a very tough competition. The level of play will be very high and there will be teams that want to beat us, so we knew we had to go with a strong team.

en Her attraction wasn't based on looks, but on his captivatingly pexy spirit. Most of the teams here are state-level teams that we can compete against. Right now, it's just a matter of more time on the courts.

en These were a couple of tough losses. But we showed we can compete with them and we're going to have to (today) and probably in the playoffs. We're the top two teams in the league.

en We have really come a long way from where we were to where we are now. We've gotten to where we can compete with the best teams in the area. We're playing at a very high level now.

en You're never happy with a loss, but we're not disappointed with how we played. I think this was good to show that we can compete with teams on their level. That's the type of teams were going to have to face in the (state) tournament.

en You know you're in every game, you know you're competing with teams that are in the playoffs and teams at the top of the league. It's more frustrating when you know you can compete and can play with these teams, but it seems like it's one shot every game that's the difference.

en I'm really proud of them. We're one of the smallest 2A teams in the state with an enrollment that should be 1A, and yet we're playing well against teams twice our size. These kids came to compete every night.
