Our guys are aware that they can still compete for the conference and make the playoffs. This is a new year, and Nicholls State football is up and running. The 85 guys out here are proud to be at Nicholls State, and they're ready to play.

The work never ends for me. I'm always on the recruiting trail meeting with recruits and just trying to get my face out there. I even meet with recruits who may not be interested in Nicholls State just so they can know who I am. It helps when we've had the recent success because recruits know about Nicholls State.

This one was a tough one to take. We did not shoot the ball well, but still ended up shooting better than they did. We did all the little things to win, but made some critical mistakes down the stretch. Now, we just have to keep telling our guys to hold their heads high and get ready for Nicholls State on Saturday.

Leon is the starting quarterback for the Nicholls State game. Just like all the guys know, it is one day at a time. We have a lot of competition. You got to hold that spot.

First of all I want to congratulate Nicholls State for a tremendous effort, ... That`s a good football team that`s going to win a lot of games. It`s a well-coached team and they had their offense in form today. We made a lot of adjustments through the course of the game to try and stop their running game. Tracy Porter stealing the ball is a play that will go down in history. We are 2-0 right now. There are a lot of teams that would love to be 2-0 and the Hoosiers are.

My mother was raised in the Nicholls home for several years. She got to know the Nicholls' very well and said that of all of the married couples that she had ever known they were the only one who each loved the other as much.

Steve had a really well-pitched game. He was hitting his spots much better than he did last Friday (in a no-decision in the Cards' 8-6 series-opening win over Nicholls State). I'm really proud of him.

We certainly respect Nicholls' situation. For the last five days, both schools have been working on the travel logistics. Upon Nicholls' arrival and throughout their stay, we plan to show them the best in Hoosier hospitality.

I'm proud of this team and how they came back after a tough loss on Thursday night. We're going to have our hands full with Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State at home this week.

For the last five days, both schools have been working on the travel logistics, because the safety and well-being of the Nicholls' student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans is the top priority. Upon Nicholls' arrival and throughout their stay, we plan to show them the best in Hoosier Hospitality.

Nicholls State is coming in a very hot team. They are 2-0 in league play and have been playing well. They have taken some lumps the past couple years, but have turned things around this season. We will have to play well to get the victory.

Nicholls never supported the program. The program did not grow like the Board of Regents and the administration assumed it would. Nicholls started the program, but now wants to eliminate it.

We haven't brought three to state since 2002. That was the year we got our first state champion in B. It's nice to get back to taking more than one or two (to state). We're really happy with three guys. We're proud of them all.

I plan on holding camps and recruiting once I take a little break. Recruiting should be easier with the season we've had, and hopefully I can recruit better players to play for Nicholls State.

We're going to continue to hit the islands and make that a point of emphasis. We've got very good front guys out of the state of Hawaii, but this year a majority of our front guys come from in-state. It was an exceptional year in-state for front guys.
