This is not Selma, Alabama, but we could see that even on Long Island, until Suffolk County faced the threat of federal intervention, it did not live up to its obligations.

As this long process with Nassau continues, we would be foolish not to begin to explore alternatives. Suffolk County is a real and viable option for the Islanders and our fans across Long Island.

I don't think the justice system in Suffolk County is prepared to admit that in what was possibly the highest-profile case in Suffolk County, they got it wrong.

We have one county with 20 percent of the (district's) population and that's Rock Island County. We have to field a candidate that can carry Rock Island County.

That's why I did all I could to support Lockheed Martin's selection process when it chose Selma as its designated site. That selection in itself certainly speaks well for Selma.
