We have one county with 20 percent of the (district's) population and that's Rock Island County. We have to field a candidate that can carry Rock Island County.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

Napa County doesn't have that many mentally ill homeless. It's only about 15 percent. The county has many aggressive programs to reach that population. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world.

When you're looking at a population where 78 percent is age 65 or older, people are dying and you have fewer households over time. Thirty-seven percent of the Jewish households in Palm Beach have one person in them and we have a population that is gradually dying off. There's not a lot of development happening on the island. The Jews moving into the county now are going to Boynton Beach. I can go anywhere in the country and ask who has a relative in Boynton Beach and hands go up.

We are concerned that our ability to compete with businesses in other places in the county and state will be compromised. We are concerned that this proposal will create an island economy and that the island will struggle.

Richmond County District Attorney Danny Craig said in the motions hearing,that but for the Gwinnett County case, they would not have had probable cause to indict him. If he's correct, and I have no reason to doubt the D.A. of Richmond County, then I don't think that will substantiate a prior bad act. It would render it inadmissible in the Gwinnett County case.

A few people have been looking for them in Lake County. Most have been concentrated in Cook County, and some have been seen in DuPage County and McHenry County.

I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.

I understand why the libraries are doing it, but I do believe that it is discriminatory. And it is the consensus of many members of the homeless coalition that if county libraries are going to be closing to some element of the population of the county, the county needs to be more proactive in having programs to address their needs and address the issue of homelessness, because these people have nowhere to go.

We received no negative comments and after reviewing the information from the public hearing last week, we concluded the fire district will be a benefit to Rock Creek and to the county as a whole.

The quality of wrestling in Allegheny County is really picking up. And there's more parity than in recent history. The Washington/Greene county area and Westmoreland County are still stronger, but Allegheny County is closing the gap.

We looked at the county as part of the downtown. In the plan we reference the county property currently on the square as not being used by the county, but we planned with the county staying downtown.

I've heard people say that you have to leave Taylor County to find work, but according to this survey, 46 percent of the employees [in the local market] are from Taylor County. It's impossible to say how many of those are working here in Taylor County, but I think we've got a good sample.

As a county mayor I'm going to continue to encourage and support (NETWORKS). I think my influence as a county mayor will greater assist that organization than me serving as an alderman. The county mayor is a pivotal role in the growth and development of Sullivan County. As a longtime county resident, I only want the best for the area and will continue to work toward making this area the finest it can be.

If you shrink the size of the county board you would have one person in the same area plus the population of the county is growing, so you'll have less representation.
