en I think the process is equitable. It's certainly not perfect. And management would be wise to be more inclusive in their perspective. But Marvin has been enriched by the fact that he has gotten to go through the process. I have no doubt in my mind that someone's going to wisely make him a head coach.

en The faculty know people from all over. The more faculty on the committee, the more likely someone will know someone who knows a candidate.

en It seems to me that the last time we had a presidential search, it was from the bottom up. The faculty were much more involved. And of course this search has been completely different. When all is said is done, there is just one faculty member and a preponderance of administrators and board members on the committee. To me, that seems uneven.

en SEPTA is on the advisory committee for this study, so we are cooperating with the planning commission. They haven't started the planning study yet or the process of hiring a consultant, so we won't know what SEPTA's final role will be until then.
